Description

We are looking for a volunteer to take a lead in building an exciting new web presence for AFS to reach out to new audiences. Your role will be to create compelling and visually exciting content which “sells” our film programme at Ayr Town Hall as well as our new digital streaming options. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in developing the website as a “filmbuff” community and integrating online ticket sales with PayPal and Eventbrite. AFS is in the process of transitioning our website to a new Content Management System – WiX; a relatively easy to use but powerful website tool.

This role could be for someone who just loves film and wants to give a few hours to do some content creation, or perhaps you want to get into website management and digital marketing, in which case this role could you a valuable opportunity to develop and implement a digital strategy to showcase your talent.

You may be working with other volunteers to co-ordinate/contribute to campaigns across our social media and direct email channels.

Organisation aims and objectives

Ayr Film Society is an award-winning community-led cinema which has been in existence since 1973. We are based in the heart of the community, at the Town Hall in the seaside town of Ayr. Ayr Film Society is a registered charity in Scotland. We are affiliated with Ayr Arts Guild, Cinema for All and Film Hub Scotland. AFS runs a main programme of screenings from Sept through to March/April, screening every Thursday evening at the Town Hall, Ayr. The Society is entirely volunteer run with a small management Committee.
