Description

Our Save the Children Charity Shop in Haddington has been a much loved part of the local community for years and continues to be hugely popular with customers and supporters, thanks to the kindness and generosity of the wonderful Volunteer Team.

If you would like to volunteer with us all you will need is some enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference. Volunteer tasks include:
*customer service
*sorting donations
*steaming clothes
*visual merchandising

You can choose how much time you dedicate, and we’ll give you training and support along the way. No special skills are needed, and we welcome people from all nationalities and backgrounds.

Organisation aims and objectives

At Save the Children we support children to learn, grow and become who they want to be. We lead the way on tackling problems like pneumonia, hunger and protecting children in war, while making sure each child's unique needs are cared for.

We can be flexible but ideally 3 hours per week.

Restrictions

Experience required: No previous experience or skills are required as all training and support will be provided on an ongoing basis.

Expenses details: Travel expenses can be reimbursed as and when incurred.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Once you've completed an application form, we'll invite you in for a look round the shop and a chance to meet some of the team.
Training details: Initial training covers your safety and wellbeing and then the regular day to day shop processes are learnt via shadowing other volunteers.
