Would you like:

· The opportunity to enhance your existing skills and knowledge and apply these to the development of an innovative and dynamic charitable organisation?

· To play a key role in the running and development of MS Therapy Centre (Tayside); enabling the charity to continue its positive and valuable work?

We are currently seeking to appoint new board members with specific skills to enhance our existing board membership. Successful candidates will have excellent knowledge and experience of one or more of the following:

· Fundraising
· Marketing
· PR

Candidates do not need experience or knowledge of MS but must be committed and passionate about making a difference.

Organisation aims and objectives

MS Therapy Centre (Tayside) is a self-help, self-funding group of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis who are dedicated to improving life with MS. The Centre was established in Peddie Street, Dundee in 1982. People affected by MS and many with other conditions attend the Centre for Oxygen Therapy and other complimentary therapies inclusive of Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Chiropody and Aromatherapy. We take a great in the fact that members are offered local access to a wide choice of support, allowing them the opportunity to manage their personal symptoms.

Experience required: Candidates do not need experience or knowledge of MS but should have skills or experience in Fundraising or Marketing or PR
Minimum age: 18

We are looking for people who are local to South West Edinburgh to join our board of trustees. Board Trustees have enabled Space to become the charity it is today. Space now delivers 17 projects, with 60+ staff and over 250 volunteers. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people from all backgrounds to join our Board of Trustees. Trustees help decide what services we deliver in The Broomhouse Hub. The board of trustees plays an integral part in developing the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring its good governance, and overseeing the delivery of the organisation’s defined aims, values, mission, and objectives. Trustees fall into two categories: Local – people living within the South West Edinburgh locality, or within 3 miles of EH11 3RH. Business – people who have joined the board to offer specific skills and experience.

The Strathmartine Trust was founded in 1999 with the aim of supporting the study, research and education of Scottish history. Based in St Andrews, the Trust offers self-catering accommodation for visiting scholars, and has a library and study space for researchers. The Trust also offers awards and grants, and maintains a community profile, hosting seminars and other events, supporting local and national historians to share their research and ideas. Trustees are expected to attend, virtually or in person, a minimum of four Trustee Meetings each year; occasionally, additional meetings are organised to discuss grant applications or other significant matters. In addition to the time taken to prepare for and attend meetings, Trustees will need to allocate time to reading and evaluating applications during the annual grant award process. It is expected that Trustees will also remain engaged and interested in the day-to-day operation of the Strathmartine Centre and Press.

A listening Ear provides a befriending service to people who are isolated or lonely, offering friendship, signposting, information and referral to other appropriate agencies. A Listening Ear is an open access service serving the communities of Dumfries and Galloway. As a Charity Trustee you have an important and valuable role to play in governing our work, in accordance with the Constitution and Strategic Plan, and in consultation with our members and wider community. Trustees will be responsible for overseeing the governance, effective management, strategic development and fulfilment of ALE’s vision and mission; ensuring compliance with the Constitution, contracts, charity policies and all relevant legislation; acting in the interests of ALE and promoting its success at all times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Ensuring that A Listening Ear complies with its governing document (Constitution), charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations •Ensuring that A Listening Ear pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document •Ensuring that A Listening Ear applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives •Ensuring the financial viability and sustainability of A Listening Ear •Contributing actively to the Board of Trustees in setting policy, providing strategic direction and evaluating performance •Safeguarding the good name and values of A Listening Ear •Acting as an ambassador for A Listening Ear
