Deaf Links are looking for people who wish to make a difference to another person, living in their community who is has a Sensory Loss.
There is no specific qualification’s necessary, Life experience and a desire to make a commitment to help people who’s lives are affected by sensory loss is all that is required.
As a Citizen advocate you will:
• Support people to make informed choices and gain independence
• Help people to develop new interests and build confidence
• Gain valuable experience of working with adults with sensory loss
• Break down social barriers and promote social inclusion
• Develop long term friendships with people at risk of becoming socially isolated

full training will be given online where possible
Each Advocate will then be Matched with a advocacy partner ( a person requiring the service) based on common interests and availability before a trial Citizen Advocacy Partnership is arranges and supported by our service. The goal is to form long lasting partnerships of support.

Deaf Links provides a wide range of services, activities and learning opportunities for Deaf, hard of hearing and sensory impaired people.

There is a minimum age of 18 Citizen Advocates will be lone working after initial training, in the community with vulnerable individuals
Travel details: Perth and Kinross working in the community
