We are looking for three board members to join our small, growing organisation.

We are seeking enthusiastic, forward thinking people with the following experiences:

*Someone who has served on the board of a successful Social Enterprise and has good attention to detail to help steer our new board.

*Someone with a history of working in the early years sector with experience or knowledge of the Care Inspectorate and/or HMiE

*Someone with a background in finance/ change management, who can support our current and future growth plans.

Meetings will take place monthly during school term time. Timing of meetings will be dependent on the availability of the whole board.

Organisation aims and objectives

At Mucky Boots, we aim to create a supportive, thriving community where: • Children lead their learning through free play in an inspiring outdoor setting • Children are encouraged to use their voice, express their ideas and share their opinions • The environment is both our inspiration and our teacher • Our holistic, nurturing approach promotes both inner and outer health for our children, their families and our staff. • Resilience is built through open ended, real life experiences and natural consequences • Up to date research about child development and health leads our practice • We work in partnership with Maryculter Woodland Trust to enhance and maintain the beautiful woodland where we play • Staff and parents work in partnership to ensure the best possible care for our children


Experience required: Interest in the importance of outdoor play experiences for children, child led play and an appreciation of a kindergarten style approach for children age 3-8.
Travel details: Our site is not accessible via public transport. Meetings will take place via a combination of Zoom and face to face.

Taster details: We would like all potential volunteers to visit our service and experience the service we offer.
