Description

To promote, coordinate and mentor volunteer speakers in your community throughout the year

What does the role involve?
• Coordinating speaker activity in your local area
• Liaise with our speakers, local schools and community groups to book sessions and determining the type of session (length, content and activities) that they would be interested in
• Signposting schools and groups to fundraising opportunities – particularly Sponsor a Puppy and Name a Puppy, Go Walkies, their school versions and our school’s resources web pages
• Gathering feedback on the speaker led session and passing on possible leads to the Community Fundraiser and local fundraising branch

Restrictions

Experience required: What skills or experience are required? • Excellent organisation and communication skills • Experience of using databases and spreadsheets • Confidence advising schools and community groups on how they can support Guide Dogs • Ability to work as part of the team (Speakers, Community Fundraiser, local Branch officials) • Experience in an administration role or working with teachers is desirable
Minimum age: 18

Training details: All volunteers are given training for their role as well as ongoing support from their volunteer manager
