Community Garden Volunteers

Victoria Gardens is a new exciting urban growing/social space located on the edge of Balgay Park. We have exciting plans for the space including a community kitchen and picnic benches. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the organic produce, support the development of our community kitchen by installing shelving, and to bring a sense of creativity in making the space a fun and enjoyable space for all.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Yusuf Youth Initiative is a dynamic youth led organization aspiring to nurture leaders of tomorrow. We provide enriching programs incorporating accreditation in sports, volunteering and the development of social action projects that will encourage young people from the BME community to grow, strive and become change makers in a vibrant and changing society.










Garden is open 5 days a week. Volunteering can happen any time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 10am - 3pm or Friday/Saturday 11am - 4pm. Volunteers can be flexible on the role they want to play at the garden and the time commitment they would have. Tea/coffee facilities are available on site.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We can cover bus travel expenses. They would keep a receipt and paid by the Manager on site.
Training details: At the start of the session, they will be introduced to the garden, the organisation, its policies. The volunteer will be given opportunities of different roles at the garden. After they commit they will be supported with ongoing training by our on site gardener.
