Are you interested in saving lives or training others too? Perhaps interested in a career in the medical profession. At Scotia Medical Group, we are looking for people from the age of 16 upwards to join our new charity in delivering medical treatment at events and working with the local community to create a network of lifesavers across the north of Scotland. Our highly motivated team of trustees and volunteers create a safe and caring environment for training and delivering our services. Whether its giving back to the local community or starting your career; whatever the reason, we want to hear from you.

Over a monthly period, once all training is complete, we would expect a minimum of 4 hours training time (2 hours a night) to keep up your skillset.

Frequency and commitment details

There is no minimum commitment to the organisations. Whilst we invest in you, we will always work with you when your circumstances change (perhaps stating college or university) to try and give you the flexibility to keep volunteering with us.

Restrictions

Unfortunately, our two restrictions are as follows: 1) You must be physically fit in order to deliver medical care. 2) Due to insurance purposes and the nature of some of the events covered, we cannot accept applications from anyone under 16.
Experience required: No skills are needed as we'll teach you everything you need to know. We only ask that you're willing to learn and have a fun, friendly approach to life.
Travel details: This awesome opportunity happens across the whole of Northern Scotland; from Stonehaven to Aberdeen; Fraserburgh to Elgin; Inverness to Wick. Currently, we are located in Elgin and training will happen here, however, there are options to take part in online sessions to save traveling. When covering events, transport and food may be provided if not we have an expenses policy to cover costs.

Training details: Upon your application being successful to volunteer with us. We will place you through approximately three weekends worth of training, this will be an induction to the organisation, medical certification and moving & handling along with patient handling. You will be assigned a mentor and they will continue to help you through your first few shifts or training sessions. Afterward, a trainer will continue to be responsible for overseeing your continuing development.
