Description

Kitchen Assistant Volunteer for Braid House Day Centre supporting elderly individuals.

Volunteers will assist in the running of our kitchen to prepare meals and morning and
afternoon teas for the clients attending the centre. Also, to assist with cleaning duties.

They will require:
• A sensitive and calm approach
• Good communication skills
• Ability to be flexible.
• Complying with health & safety, health & hygiene procedures

Volunteer Kitchen Assistants are preferred from 8.45 – 3.30pm but we are flexible with
these hours

Key tasks:

  • To assist with dishwashing and other cleaning duties
  • To stock trolley ready for client’s tea in morning and afternoon
  • General kitchen duties

Restrictions

Experience required: Ideally you will have some catering experience but it is not essential.
Travel details: Must be able to get to Braid House on your own.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: It is unlikely you will incur expenses in this role but if you do, these will be paid monthly.
Taster available: Yes
Training details: In return for your support, we can offer possible training courses to support volunteer such as: • Manual Handling • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults • Elementary Food Hygiene • Other kitchen related training courses
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet
