Complementary Therapist

  • VO85812

We are looking for therapists from a wide range of disciplines from reiki to hypnotherapy to mindfulness, and everything in between! If you have a background in complementary therapy and have a couple of hours available to support group work and 1:1 sessions, we’d love to tell you more.
We are looking for volunteers to join our Complementary Therapy team and donate their time and professional skills as a therapist to support our hospice patients, this may include people with neurological, heart or chest conditions and cancer. We have a dynamic and friendly team who are providing imaginative ways of supporting people in the different circumstances they face due to the pandemic.
We hope to be able to offer both face to face support sessions for patients attending our Edinburgh Hospice, and a range of online support including 1:1 sessions and online videos and courses on complementary therapies and wellbeing.

Organisation aims and objectives

Every day of your life matters, from the first to the last. We believe everyone living with a terminal illness should be able to get the most from the time they have left, however hard that may sometimes feel. We’ll be here for you and your family when you may feel like no-one else is, to help you cope when you don’t know how. Marie Curie Nurses care for you in your home, when you need them most, day or night. Our hospices are at the heart of communities around the UK. And our trained volunteers and advisers are here for you with practical information and support when you don’t know what to do next or just need to talk. We’ll be by your side with care and support every step of the way, bringing light in the darkest hours.
