Boma Motorised Wheelchair Handler

  • VO85666

Description

We are very lucky to have a BOMA motorised off road wheelchair that allows all participants to undertake expeditions and other outdoor activities regardless of physical ability. This is incredibly important as it makes activities so much more accessible to all our young people.
We also hire the BOMA out for a nominal fee to non-DofE users and we would like to promote its use further.
We are looking for someone to manage and maintain the electric wheelchair, give demonstrations to users and where possible, join expeditions to offer technical support for users.
Full training would be provided.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Association was set up to advance the mental, physical and spiritual welfare of young people between the ages of 14 and 25 by promoting the scheme of Awards known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. In recent years, whilst maintaining the core function of the Association we have focused our activities on provision of support and experiential learning for targeted groups of young people with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
